CEO of WSI Online agency shared practical tips about digital marketing!
week Kristjan-Paul Raude, CEO of WSI Online digital agency gave two lectures in
University of Tartu: first an open lecture „How to grow your brand and sales using
digital tools?“ and then an interactive seminar for IdeaLab STARTER program
participants. The topic was suprisingly popular – in the STARTER seminar there
was almost 100 people!
During the seminar Raude explained the client’s buying behaviour, gave an overview on different opportunities in digital marketing and shared some practical tips on creating a digital marketing plan. In more depth he talked about social media channels, content marketing, creating a strategy and marketing optimization tools. He also introduced inbound’ marketing: it is a marketing method that helps to market and sell more customer-friendly, focusing on the customer’s needs and interests.

As a practical exercise, client
personas for specific companies were created. In the groups participants thought trough the
demographic features of an ideal client, their values and wishes, problems and
needs. In starter program they also learned how to use marketing tools, such as
Google Trends for finding future trends and relevant keywords – as the world is
nowadays changing so fast and long-term marketing strategies are becoming
useless, keeping up with trends is crucial! Teams also did a quick competitor
research, analysing what works for their competitors in terms of marketing.

leaders Ako said that before workshop he didn’t have high expectations, but he’s
always open for new knowledge and experiences. „What I learned from this
workshop was determining the target group and why’s that important“, adding
that he recommends everyone to participate in IdeaLab seminars – it’s a place
for finding new contacts and learning new things!

University of Tartu students won two first places at international pitching competition in USA
On Friday evening, 23rd June University of Tartu teams took the two first places at the final competition of an exclusive NGAL® business development program. Among ten student teams from Estonia and USA, Cody was selected to be the winner and got 3,000 USD to implement their idea. The second place and 2,000 USD went to the Coulomb Sailing Group, a space technology start-up grown out from EstCube.
NGAL 3.0 Tartu camp: learning, working hard and getting new experiences!
As the first and second day were full of interesting talks and valuable lessons, we decided to put some more focus on teamwork and getting things done during the next days. However, those days were full of new experiences: meetings with experienced investors, lecture on history, tour at SPARK and University of Tartu, trying out Estonian sauna and visiting Narva, the easternmost point of EU!
Second day of NGAL®: lots of team time, visit to Mooncascade, design thinking and one-to-one mentoring with Helen Kokk!
Tuesday, 6th June was the second day of NGAL ® and well, it was even more fun! We started the day off with the reflection, got some sun during the team time, visited Mooncascade - one of the coolest IT companies in Tartu - talked about design thinking and UX with wonderful Helen Kokk and ended our day with amazing pasta!
